Styling tips for you
This is a guide based on your answers, not an exact analysis. Lighting, screens and fabrics all change how colors look, so try shades near your face in daylight before buying.

Depth is what you see. Undertone is what decides.
Skin depth runs from fair to deep, and every depth comes in three undertones. Undertone is the subtle hue beneath the surface, and it usually matters more than depth when choosing colors.
-
Cool
Pink, rosy or bluish hints. Veins often look blue or purple, and silver tends to look better than gold. Jewel tones and blue-based shades usually shine.
-
Warm
Golden, peachy or yellow hints. Veins often look green, and gold tends to glow. Earthy, golden and yellow-based shades usually shine.
-
Neutral
A balance of both, or hard to tell. Silver and gold both work. Softer, slightly muted shades from either side usually look natural.

- Stand near a window in natural daylight. Indoor bulbs can make skin look warmer or cooler than it is.
- Check bare skin without makeup, fake tan or a filter.
- Look at the inside of your wrist and your jawline rather than sun-exposed areas.
- If two answers seem true, choose “both” or “hard to tell”. That usually points to a neutral undertone.
Questions
Skin tone FAQ
What is the difference between skin tone and undertone?
Skin tone, or depth, is how light or deep your skin looks. Undertone is the subtle cool, warm or neutral hue underneath. Two people with the same depth can have different undertones.
Why don’t you ask for a photo?
Phone cameras and screen settings change skin color a lot, so photo results are often misleading. A few simple questions in daylight tend to give a more reliable starting point, and nothing leaves your device.
Can my undertone change?
Your undertone generally stays the same, even when a tan changes your depth. You may find that your best depth of color shifts slightly between summer and winter.
Does “wear with care” mean I can’t wear those colors?
No. It means those shades may need a little help. Wear them away from your face, for example as trousers, shoes or a bag, or pair them with one of your best colors near your face.
